EDUCATION:
July 1941 – finished seven years of secondary school No.354, Moscow;
August 1945 – finished the second year of the Moscow Air Force school;
July 1947 – finished two courses of the Vasilyevsk air technicians college, Kiev region;
1949 – graduated with honors from the first Moscow Red Banner holding Air Force school for the radio communication;
1950 – finished the access course of the Zhukovsky Air Force Engineering Academy;
1956 – finished the radio technical department of the Zhukovsky Air Force Engineering Academy and received a diploma of Air Force radio communication engineer;
1961 – graduated from the post-graduate study of the jet-propelled commanded weapon systems department of the Zhukovsky Air Force Engineering Academy;
1963 – awarded a degree of technical science candidate.
OCCUPATION BEFORE JOINING COSMONAUT CORPS:
From January 1942 - worked as a turner at the Moscow drilling machines plant of the Oil Industry Ministry;
From July 15, 1947 to January 30, 1948 – served as air technician at the Pilot tactical officer courses;
From May 12, 1949 – at the command of the Moscow Military Command Air Force Commander-in-chief;
From June 30, 1949 to January 24, 1950 – a duty officer for radio communication, from July 20, 1949 – a radar set platoon commander of detached radio signal regiment 131of the Moscow Military Command Air Force;
From April 2, 1956 – served as a radio engineer of the Zhukovsky Air Force Engineering Academy;
From June 24, 1958 – a candidate of the jet-propelled commanded weapon systems department, since 6 February 1959 – a candidate of the air weapon systems operation department of the same academy;
From September14, 1961 – a senior research assistant of laboratory 54 of department 24 for the fourth division of the Central Air Force Scientific Research Institute.
DATE OF JOINING COSMONAUT CORPS (GROUP NUMBER, DATE):
January 10, 1963 – by the Air Force commander-in-chief order appointed to the cosmonaut student position of the cosmonaut corps of the GCTC (the second group);
From January 23, 1965 – a second group cosmonaut and cosmonaut-engineers chief.
RATING:
September 3, 1974 - a third class cosmonaut;
A instructor for the Air Force airborne regiment (more than 100 parachute jumps);
Total flight hours: more than 630 hours with an instructor on various types of aircraft.
BACK-UP ACTIVITY:
May 3, 1965 to January 1966 – a back up crewmember for the Voshod-3 space mission together with G. Beregovoy.
SPACE FLIGHTS PERFORMED:
August 26 to August 28, 1974aflight engineer of the Soyuz-15 along with G. Sarafanov. Since the control system of the approach correction jet failed the docking and Salyut-3 space flight were not successful (instead of retrograde burn the acceleration one was fired). For the first time of all they landed at night. Flight duration: 2 days 00 hours 12 min. 11 sec. Call sign:Dunay-2.
