EDUCATION:
1967 finished secondary school in Klishkovtsy
village with silver medal;
1971 graduated from the Chernigov Higher
Air Force School;
September 1985 June 1988 studied at
the Akhtubinsk center of Moscow Aviation Institute, a part-time student
of the aircraft manufacture department;
1988 continued his study at MAI (Moscow),
graduated with the certificate of a mechanical engineer.
OCCUPATION BEFORE JOINING COSMONAUT CORPS:
from November 2, 1971 - an instructor-pilot
of Training air regiment of the Chernigov Higher Air Force School.
DATE OF JOINING COSMONAUT CORPS (GROUP NUMBER,
DATE):
August 23, 1976 was enrolled as a student-cosmonaut
(group 6) in the cosmonaut corps of the Air Force Cosmonaut Training Center
by the Air Force Commander-in-Chief order;
from January 30, 1979 a cosmonaut of
the aerospace means group.

an instructor of the Air Force Paradrop Training, December 11, 1987

He has mastered the aircraft of 54 different types and modifications.

October 25, 1988 was included in the
cosmonaut group of the Air Force State Red Banner Scientific-Research Institute;
February 15, 1996 was discharged from
the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation by the RF Minister of Defense
order, and left the cosmonaut corps at his own will due to the Ukrainian
naturalization.
